Since the great financial crisis of 2008, the world of finance and banking has come under increased scrutiny and criticism. Many believe that global banks and other institutions of the international financial system exercise levels of power and influence over human society that dwarf those of national governments, and that they do so without transparency and accountability. In this talk, Andrew Waldie will explore the history of money, credit and banking to explain what the “money power” is based on, how it has developed over time, and ask how best could it be restored it to public control?
